Have you ever tried to get on to a dating site?
Match.com, eHarmony and PlentyofFish are some of the big fishes of this space.
These sites lets you pick a potential date online based on matching interests and likes; but there is no filter. Unlike in physical world where we you get to introduced to a date through a friend.
Now a new startup in this space Clique is trying to fill a void in online dating space. It is trying to bring people who know each other – throug its invite only model.
Good for users but with this model it looks like it will be hard to scale for Clique. If it can pull this off users will get a worthy addition to current set of players.
Good it happens because with Match.com’s 50 million acquisition of OK Cupid, OKCupid will have to change the way it worked in past.
